Christian Children’s Stories – Uplifting Content From a Christian Worldview

A story written for Laura By Mary O. Burcin This story began to take shape a very long time ago. One day I had a picture in my mind of Our Heavenly Father surrounded by all the little souls that would one day be sent to earth, like little angels. This wonderful joyful crowd was waiting to receive their missions from God. The love that moved through that scene was deeply moving for me. I could not forget it. So the right time finally came to write this story for you. I hope you will enjoy the story and its message for many years to come. It has been an encouragement to me and a reminder that God cares deeply about each of our lives. His compassion and plans are eternal. Prayerfully I offer this story to Our Lord and Savior for His blessing. With my love, Aunt Mary Her story begins ages ago in heaven when God was preparing young souls to be born into families on earth. Our Heavenly Father sat surrounded by young and eager little ones, waiting to hear what their missions might be on earth. With a loving smile, He began to tell them about life on the earth He had created. There was a great need for His love to be spread into the hearts of people. He wanted these little ones to be a joy and blessing in the lives of the families God had chosen for them. “There are people there who are lonely or sad and they need their hearts to be awakened by a child’s love, He explained. Others have been waiting for a long time for you to arrive. Some are not as ready but they need you now, they just don’t know it. Some families already have several other children and you are the one that will make their family complete. I have spoken to the hearts of those who are praying for my help and blessed their hope with answers to their prayers.” God called each precious little one into His waiting arms and kissed them and whispered their assignment into their heart, blessed them and sent them on their way. He paused for a moment to explain that some assignments were more difficult than others. There is a Mom and Dad who have been praying for a daughter to raise to serve Me. She will be a witness of My compassion and faithfulness through many everyday challenging circumstances. But she will have great faith and show courage and wisdom that inspires others to trust me with their lives. “Send me, send me! Little One shouted out. I can do it, I can do it, she exclaimed! I want to play in the sunshine, hear the birds sing and splash in a big pool of water!” God smiled and called her to His side and said, “Yes, I know that you will be able. But you will need my help, so listen for my words in your heart.” Little One gave God a big hug and whispered, “Thank You and I love You so much!” So Little One began her journey as a little sister in the family God had chosen for her. She had an older sister that would cherish her and teach her how to make wonderful healthy food. With patience and understanding she would show Little One how to prepare snacks that were good for her tummy and delicious to eat. One day she would even show Little One how to make a very special cake. Her family had a wonderful mother and father that looked out for Little One and her two brothers. They taught them about God’s love for all His children. There was music and laughter as well as tears and tempers but they managed to keep their hearts open to God’s loving will for all of them. In time, Little One grew to be a fine young girl who learned to help her family with daily tasks, go to school, to church, and even plan birthday parties. She always looked forward to baseball games with her Dad and quiet walks in the park with her Mom. The challenges God spoke of were always there and Little One carried a heavy burden at times. But then she would listen in her heart for God’s words of love and encouragement and the sun would shine again for her. And she knew the joy of playing in the sunshine which lifted her heart everyday. Even the birds seemed to sing a special song for her each morning. And there was music in Little One’s heart too, so she sang her praises to God too. And Oh there was the wonderful joy of splashing in a pool of water. That was one of Little One’s most favorite things to do. So she blossomed beyond her burdens and lived with a grateful and loving heart. Little One shared her love for God in so many ways. She wanted others to know Him and be blessed by His love too. Her warm smile and gentle hugs were a sign of her great heart. She was also sensitive to pain and sadness in others and would do her best to cheer them up. Sometimes being patient was difficult for her so she prayed for God’s peace to fill her heart. She wanted to serve God and help others know His grace and forgiveness. Little One wanted to shine for God in her own special way. But she knew how easy it was to make mistakes and how much she needed to rely on God’s strength to guide her everyday. She would remember God’s great love for her and ask Him to forgive her and help her become more like her Lord Jesus. And she also remembered that Jesus said, “Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. So her childlike faith grew and grew until it overflowed and touched so many other lives that no one could count them all. Little One was truly the blessing God had intended her to be and she never doubted His constant love. Romans 8:38-39 KJV 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
